Hot Classics

Hot Classics was the first spin-off of Hot tracks.

The pet project of Hot Tracks founder Steve Algozino was designed to showcase older (and often rarer) tracks (mostly disco) as well as remixes of these older tracks.

The first release (Issue 1) was in 1984 and the final release was in 2001 (Issue 13).

Issue 6 in 1987 was dedicated to Algozino and was created from notes he compiled prior to his death from an AIDS related illness in 1986.

An 8 CD compilation was produced in 1994 (also dedicated to Algozino (image attached)) and a final 9 disk set with extra mixes (Select Mix - Hot Tracks Presents... The Hot Classics) was also dedicated to him.
